Hi! I am Aditi Murarka, a mom to a 5 year old girl, currently a stay-at-home mom
and a blogger. I have a background in finance (B.Com (H), MBA) and
a love for Art. I left my corporate hedge fund job in 2013 to explore a
career in art. However, I landed up starting a small business in 2015 and
became a mom in 2017.
Motherhood completely changed my priorities and helped me reinvent myself. It gave me the opportunity to experiment, learn and grow with my child every single day. Becoming a mom made me realise how huge the responsibility of a parent is. It is the ‘ultimate challenge and the ultimate adventure’ as I like to call it. The responsibility of raising a child has so many aspects – be it nutrition, mental health, brain development, learning and play.
As a new mother I faced a plethora of problems, there were self-doubts, Post-Partum Depression (PPD), lack of self-confidence and perpetual fatigue. Having spent hours googling ‘What if ….. ? How to …. ? The right way … ?’ I only realised there is no one right way to raise a child. Parents need practical, real life solutions which can make life simpler without creating unrealistic standards of perfection for parents.
I truly believe that when a child is born, so are a set of parents. They are as
new to this world, as confused and still learning. That is why my page is called
Spectra Mom – because parenting in my opinion has varied aspects, never
confined to one true solution and involves continuous learning, growing and
evolving as parents and people! I Becoming a parent offers ‘Spectra’cular
scope of personal growth, rediscovering your likes and dislikes while raising a
little human being!
So here I am, sharing my raw, unfiltered and honest parenting experiences
with you. I am a firm believer in gentle parenting and share my experiences
